| Gurmat Samagam organised in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 16: Sirhind Fateh Divis Celebration Committee Jammu held Gurmat Samagam at Sant Mela Singh College of Education Digiana Jammu on Saturday in connection with the Tercentenary celebrations of the victory of Sirhand by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. At least 20,000 devotees participated in this religious function which was held under the supervision of Mahant Manjeet Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib (Poonch) here. Raagis from Delhi, Dhadied and preachers from Punjab and Swarn Singh Khalsa, SGPC preachers from Amritsar also participated and spoke. Minister for Reven-ue, Relief and Rehabilita-tion, Raman Bhalla and Arvinder Singh Micky, chairman Legislature Council participated. Addressing the gathering both the political personalities remembered the sacrifice of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur for justice and country. Addressing the religious gathering, Mahant Manjeet Singh said that Banda Singh Bahadur was the native of Rajouri Distt. and Delhi Gurudwara Prabandhak committee has given rupees one crore for making his 'Yadegaar' at his birth place. He further said that Paramjeet Singh Sarna president DGMC has also given assurance to make a guest house near Harminder Sahib (Amritsar) for the staying of pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir. Sudershan Singh Wazir, former chairman SGPB threw light on the life, sacrifices and achievements of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. Prominent Sikh personalities including Avtar Singh Khalsa,Mohonder Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Harjeet Singh, Narbir Singh, Dayal Singh Wazire, Amrik Singh, Gurdev Singh, Ramneek Singh Bijral, Gazan Singh, Kultar Singh, Kulwant Singh, Raja Singh Simble and others addressed the gathering.
