| Held ultra says Pak army trains militants in PoK camps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 16: Mohammad Ashraf, who was on May 10 held along with his PoK-wife Asma, near the Line of Control (LoC) at Sawjian in Poonch, has said that Pak army officers are training militants in camps across the border. "Pak army is actively involved in the training of militants in Pok-based camps," he told his interrogators. Ashraf said the militant training camps were strictly under the control of Pak army and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), according to police sources. The revelations made by him showed that Pak army and Islamabad had not closed down terror camps on their soil. He said though there were thousands of Kashmiri youth in PoK militant camps, nearly 100 were undergoing training in the Garhi Habibullah militant training camp alone. All of them wanted to return homes, but they were scared of the Pak army trainers, he added. Ashraf said the Pak army trainers in militant camps had been providing them food and other items of daily use, besides money. Sources said Ashraf had given a detailed description of the Pak army officers who handled and trained militants in camps. He had also named several Kashmiri youth who were in the Garhi Habibullah camp, the sources added. He said Nadeem Hussain of Thathri in Doda, who was also in the Garhi Habibullah camp, was quite close to him. Ashraf, who was given the name of Janbaaz at the Khacharban launching pad of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). Sources said though Asma was married to Ashraf four months back, her medical examination at the Poonch district hospital showed that she did not have any physical relation with him. As Asma was 14, Ashraf was said to have made a commitment with her mother that they would not get physical till she attained the age of 16, the sources added.
