| MLC Wazir expresses gratitude to Govt. people | | Successful Srihind fateh Divas | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 19: The MLC, T.S Wazir has expressed his thankfulness to the Sikh sangat, government and people of other communities in making successful the 300 celebrations of ‘srihind Fateh Divas”, of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in the shape of ‘Nagar Kirtan’. Addressing a press conference here today Wazir said the Nagar Kirtan has made all of us to think over the strong social bonds of harmony, love and fraternity we have in the state of Jammu Kashmir. He said fateh Divas celebrations was the right time to pay tributes to this brave man, who was a great warrior, social reformer and a highly religious person, who fought for Justice against tyranny and debated the then rulers and established ‘Sikh raj’. He also expressed thanks to the divisional commissioner, Dy.Commissioners. Police and traffic department PHE, PDP, Jammu municipality, tourism and health department for their cooperation. He said J&K state Gurdwara Prabandak Board and other Sikh organization has special thanks for Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister and his Govt. for support and whole hearted cooperation in celebration of this programme and added we are thankful to the Chief Minister and request his support for raising memorial in the memory of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur the great general one each at Rajouri and Lakhanpur- the entry point of the state as brave deeds of this warrior cause the state a great proud, beside one educational institute in the name of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur be established or one existing may be named in the name of this great warrior so that coming generation could always remember him and take lesson from his sacrifices given by him for the country.
