| 13 session judges given selection grade | | 2 judicial officers suspended, 2 attached | |

JAMMU, May 19: In a full court meeting held in summer capital with the Chief Justice, Dr Aftab Husain in chair today, one CJM, a sub-judge were placed under suspension. The meeting also attached a sessions judge and a munsif.
Soon after the meeting, the Registrar General, MK Hanjura issued order of suspension of Sub-Judge Nowshera with immediate effect. He has also been attached to High Court Jammu wing Similar orders were issued against CJM (Chief Judicial Magistrate), Sikander Azam against whom an enquiry is pending completion.
Pending enquiry to be held against Mohd Anwar Al-Nasir (then Munsiff Chadoora) at present Munsiff Pulwama is attached to Srinagar Wing of the High Court of J&K with immediate effect. Shakti Gupta First Additional District & Sessions Srinagar is attached to Srinagar Wing of the High Court of J&K with immediate effect.
According to the order No 164 issued today (May 19), 13 District & Sessions Judges have been placed in selection grade of J&K Higher Judicial Service from such dates as mentioned in the order. Bansi Lal Bhat Principal Sessions Judge Jammu date of placement in selection grade February 1, 2005. JR Kotwal Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu placed in selection grade from April 28, 2005, Altaf Hussain Principal Sessions Judge Anantnag is placed in selection grade from April 28, 2005, Gous-ul-Nissa Jeelani Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar is placed in selection grade from May 1, 2005, Kaneez Fatima Presiding officer MACT Srinagar is placed in selection grade from July 1, 2007, Abdul Rashid Bhat-I Special Judge Anticorruption Srinagar is placed in selection grade from November 23, 2007, Abdul Wahid Principal Secretary to Chief Justice is placed in selection grade from March 1, 2008, Mohd Nazir Principal Sessions Judge Baramulla is placed in selection grade from March 31, 2008, Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal Presiding officer MACT Jammu is placed in selection grade from March 31, 2008, Syed Farooq Ahmed Principal Sessions Judge Kulgam is placed in selection grade from March 31, 2008, Kartar Singh Principal Sessions Judge Kathua is placed in selection grade from November 5, 2008, Muzaffar Iqbal Qureshi District & Sessions Judge placed in the selection grade from February 1, 2009 and Rashid Ahmed Lone Additional District Judge Srinagar is placed in selection grade from March 1, 2009.
According to order No 166 dated July 19, 2010 the judicial officers who have attained and/ or are attaining the age of 58 years are found fit and eligible for continued utility as Judicial Officers are namely Gous-ul-Nissa Jeelani Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar; Abdul Rashid Bhat-I Special Judge Anticorruption Srinagar, Abdul Wahid Principal Secretary to Chief Justice and Gopi Krishan Pandita Principal District & Sessions Judge Kishtwar.In another order No 167 dated May 19, 2010, the following Judicial Officers who have attained and/or are attaining the age of 55 years are found fit and eligible for continued as Judicial Officers are Brij Mohan Gupta Principal District & Sessions Judge Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur.
In another order the Registrar General said that as intended by Rules 21 & 24 of the Jammu & Kashmir High Judicial Service Rules 2009, the following judicial officers who attained/or are attaining the age of 50 years and found fit and eligible for continued as Judicial Officers are KS Parihar 4th Additional District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Aijaz Ahmed Mir Principal District & Sessions Judge Pulwama and Subash Chander Gupta Principal District & Sessions Judge Leh and Parvaiz Hussain Kachroo Chief Judicial Magistrate Budgam.
