| Subedar dies of heart attack in Mendher | | |

JAMMU, May 19: An Army Subedar today died of cardiac arrest in Mendher area of Poonch.
Subedar Des Raj of 37 Rashtriya Rifles was on guard duty at an army camp at Mendhar when he suffered a heart attack.
He was evacuated by army jawans to the sub-district hospital, Mendhar, where doctors pronounced him brought dead. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the jawans for last rites.
He hailed from Mirpur in Himachal Pradesh. He had reported on duty Tuesday after availing one month leave.
