| Ex-CRPF jawan held for militant links | | | RAJOURI: A retired CRPF jawan was today arrested by police and troops of 39 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) from his house at Thera in Mendhar, Poonch, for his alleged links with militants.
Police sources said acting on a tip-off that ex-CRPF cop Mohammad Khaliq had developed links with militants, a joint team of Mendhar police and 39 RR jawans raided his residence at Thera.
The search of his house led jawans to the recovery of 11 Pak-made detonators, an IED weighing 3 kg and 10 safety fuses, the sources added.
Khaliq was then taken into custody and whisked away to the police station. Sources said his sustained interrogation was on. SSP, Poonch, Manmohan Singh said nothing could be said about his involvement in militant activities as the investigation had just started.
