| Several organizations flay Abdullah for seeking clemency | | | Effigy burnt at R S Pura JAMMU OCT-16- Taking strong exception to the recent utterances of former Chief Minister and Patron National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah suggesting clemency to the accused Mohammed Afzal Guru, the Shiv Sena has described it as highly objectionable and condemnable. In its emergency meeting the Hindu Shiv Sena of Jammu and Kashmir held under the chairmanship of Krishan Manhas President demanded that those advocating for clemency to the accused involved in an Parliament attack should be put behind the bars as they can not challenge the Supreme Court verdict, The meeting also expressed its surprise over Dr Faooq’s warning that if the Supreme Court verdict was implemented it would endanger the lives of the Judges who awarded the death sentence. The meeting alleged that leaders like Farooq Abdullah have been favouring anti-national elements for their political and personal gains and warned of serious consequences if the Central Government failed to accept the Supreme Court verdict to hang the accused Guru on the scheduled date. Those who attended the meeting were Rajan Malhotra, Ravi Kumar and Madan Lal In the meanwhile, the activists of Bajrang Dal led by its President Kundan Lal Sharma held a protest demonstration at R S Pura against the recent objectionable utterances of former Chief Minister Dr.Farooq Abdullah demanding clemency to accused Afzal Guru and burnt his effigy today.. Similar reports have come in from Kathua where activists of Panthers Party Youth Wing led by its President Robin Sharma and Rajiv Gupta city President have strongly condemned Dr. Abdullah’s statement and urged the President to dismiss the mercy appeal and ensure hanging of the accused as per the Apex Court verdict.
