| Ravinder visits Sunderbani, takes stock of public issues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SUNDERBANI, May 27: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) general secretary and spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma undertook a tour of Langar, Bhata-Tala Nahoti areas of Sunderbani tehsil and took stock of the problems of people faced by them especially acute scarcity of drinking water. Addressing people in a function organised by social and cultural council, Sunderbani in connection with death anniversary of PD Sharma, known social worker of the area, Sharma urged the PHE authorities to gear up efforts and press more water tankers in service to meet the requirement of the people. He said that people are facing acute scarcity of drinking water in the entire belt of Sund-erbani-Nowshera. He said that he has approached the Minister for PHE, Taj Mohiuddin and senior officers of the department about the problems of drinking water in the area. The Department has undertaken the process of digging of more wells and hand pumps in the area during the past couple of weeks and more hand pumps will be provided. He stressed upon the PHE authorities to expedite the preparation of a plan to meet the water crises in the area. He also urged the exploring the possibility of Filtration Plant on the rib of the village. He also listened to the problems of people with regard to implementation of NERGA, shortage of ration and the demand for accelerating the developmental activities. He also paid tributes to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on his 46th death anniversary and described him an architect of modern India. Sharma also recalled the services of P.D. Sharma and announced an amount of Rs 50,000 for the development of Park in his memory. He also offered erection of Gate on the bridge to be named after late Som Nath who laid down his life for the sake of nation.
