| Lashkar trying to infiltrate into Army:two soldiers in custody on charge of their nexsus with militants | | | Jammu,July 25 :-Two soldiers of the JAKLI,Lance Naik,Mohd.Shakeel, and Sepoy Abdul Haq,have been taken into custody by a central intelligence agency for interrogation following reports of their nexsus with Lashkar-e-Toiba field commanders, operating in the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri. Official sources said that"the intelligence agency sleuths have taken Mohd.Shakeel and Abdul Haq,hailing from Gursai village in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch,to an unidentified place for sustained interrogation. The sources said that following a tip-off the duo was taken into custody. The two soldiers, preliminary interrogation reports said, had been contacted by a top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba,Abu Osama and sought their assistance in delivering money to the Lashkar activists,in arranging SIM cards for their cellphones, batteries, pencil cells and in delivering letters to other field commanders and operatives. Mohd.Shakeel and Abdul Haq,according to the sources, told the interrogators that they were forced to act as overground workers for Lashkar-i-Toiba activists after militants threatened elimination of Haq's and Shakeel's family members if they refused to do the job that was being assigned to them. The central intelligence agency experts have described the revelation of Haq and Shakeel as "alarming" as soldiers were being used as couriers by the militant commanders. These agency experts have suggested to the Defence Ministry and the Union Home Minstry to order a thorough screening of the forces in order to eliminate and isolate those who continue to render direct or indirect assistance to militants in Jammu and Kashmir. The intelligence sleuths are of the opinion that militants may have infiltrated in police, paramilitary forces and the police which needed special screening. After the sensational disclosure by Mohd.Shakeel and Abdul Haq the Army authorities have labelled the Gursai belt as a "black village" on the plea that the area was already infested by militants. The Army and intelligence surveillance has been intensified in the village to nab others who were providing moral and material assistance to militants.
