| YMP calls for women Empowerment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 27: Youth Movement for Peace (YMP) organized a program for women in village Sohanjana near here.
YMP's Women Welfare and Development Unit is working primarily for the development and upliftment of the women and today's programme was part of it. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, YMP, Vikas Sharma said, "Development of any nation depends on the status of its women and for the emergence of India as a developed country, women empowerment is must. It is achieved only when the women will get social and economical freedom."
He further said, "Without women development neither a nation can be developed nor it become successful."
He especially emphasized women to acquire basic education and become literate and promised them to provide every possible help. He also announced the opening of a centre where women can learn different vocational courses so that they can become socially and economically independent.
All the women got encouraged after attending this program and appealed for opening such specific courses as soon as possible.
