Bhalla lays foundation stone of Multipurpose Community Hall

JAMMU, May 27: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said that coalition government is fully aware of people's problems and is making all out efforts to provide all basic amenities at their doorsteps which include drinking water, healthcare, electricity, education, road connectivity and drainage system.
This was said by the Minister after laying the foundation stone of Multipurpose Community Hall at Ravi Dass Basti in Ward No 47 at Bahu Fort, to be completed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh by Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Bhalla said that on the completion of the hall, the locals would arrange social as well as religious functions on nominal fee. He said that 'it is the duty of every citizen to protect public property. Minister said that government has made all out efforts to provide all infrastructural facilities to visitors at Bahu Fort and Har ki Poudi including public convenience, cafeteria and tourist reception centre besides wayside facilities. He said Rs11.87 crore have been spent on three tourist circuits in Jammu region including Bagh-e-Bahu during the last financial year.
Bhalla informed that government has approved Rs 10 lakh for construction of entry gate to Har ki Poudi on modern lines.
Minister said that a number of measures have been taken by the Government to develop new tourism spots and conservation of century old monuments of the region.
He said that focused attention was also being paid for conservation and restoration of pristine glory of Bahu-Fort, Mubarak Mandi and other heritage places, besides up-gradation of tourism related infrastructure, in order to attract domestic and foreign tourists towards the city of temples. Earlier, the Minister also inspected the ongoing 400 meter covering of nallah work behind the telephone exchange in Gandhi Nagar, coming up at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.
He said that after completing the covering of nallah work, the area would be developed as park on modern lines with walkway and illumination facilities.
Later, Bhalla also visited Baba Kailakh Nath Ji Devsathan at Thathar near Bantalab where he attended the religious function organized in connection with Budh Purnima. Speaking on the occasion, he greeted the people on the occasion of Buddha Purnima and said the auspicious day will usher the state into an era of permanent peace and prosperity.
He described Lord Buddha as an epitome of peace, harmony and non-violence.
In his message, Bhalla said his spiritual enlightenment and professing the reality of one creative power, will continue to act as a guiding force for the people.
