| Srinagar-Leh highway closed after snowfall | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 28: Following heavy rains and fresh snowfall at Zojila Pass and areas surrounding it, the 475-km Srinagar-Leh highway was today closed to vehicular traffic.
The highway connects Ladakh region with the rest of India. Two inches of snow had accumulated in the area and at Sonamarg, according to official sources.
Kashmir to has been receiving incessant rains for the past several hours, swelling most rivers and streams.Authorities had sounded a general alert as the water level crossed
the danger mark in most rivers and streams except for the Jhelum river.
