| 45 bags of poppy straw seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, May 28: Excise sleuths seized 45 bags of poppy straw weighing 1100 kg at Toll Post Lakhanpur during frisking of the vehicles today.
Excise sleuths during frisking of the vehicles intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03B,4065 which was on way to Delhi from Kashmir and recovered the contraband from it.
The vehicle was full of vegetable and the contraband was hiding at the bottom of the vegetable.The contraband later handed over to the Inspector Excise sub Range Kathua for further proceeding under NDPS Act 1985 in the presence of Deputy Excise Commissioner Bashir Ahmed.
