| Poonch registers 82.90 metric tonnes milk production | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 29: Poonch district has recorded an annual production of 82.90 metric tonnes of milk and 41.90 metric tonnes of milk by products during the last financial year. The information was given at an officers meeting convened by District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Kuldip Lal Khajuria, here today to review the functioning of Animal Husbandry Department. The meeting was told that 85 veterinary centres including, 37 Frozen Semen Centres are operating in the district providing health cover and cattle development services. During past two months, 61446 animals have been treated against various contagious and non-contagious diseases, besides providing R2B and F1 39600 vaccine to the livestock.
Besides, 36600 poultry birds were vaccinated against fatal diseases and over 1100 breeding birds were sold from the departmental poultry farms on concessional rates.
