| 9 vehicles, 8 tents burnt in two incidents of fire | | | JAMMU: At least nine vehicles and eight tents were gutted in two incidents of fire that last night broke out in a CRPF camp at Nagrota and traffic police lines at Gulshan Ground here. Police sources said fire broke out in the CRPF camp of 136 Bn in Usman Dawar area at Nagrota on the city outskirts last night. Due to high speed winds, the blaze soon spread to other parts of the camp, housing tents for jawans, destroying seven tents, the sources added. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was controlled. Short circuit is said to be the reason behind the fire. At the traffic police lines, fire broke out when electric sparks from a transformer put a nearby tent on flames, the sources added. From the tent, the flames spread to a nearby heap of used tyres and then to at least nine vehicles and a scooter one after the other. The fire was later extinguished by fire tenders.
