| JU's winning run continues in VCs T20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 1: Title holders, University of Jammu continued their winning spree in the league round almost ensuring their berth in the knock-out stages of semi-finals in the ongoing All India Vice-Chancellors Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament at University of Kashmir ground, here today. In today's fourth game, University of Jammu defeated Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) Ludhiana by 36 runs thereby registering their third consecutive win off four outings. Now, in the fifth game, JU shall be playing against Jamia Milia University Delhi tomorrow, followed by the sixth and last league tie against Shimla University. Earlier, in today's match, JU won the toss and batting first set a target of 169 runs for the loss of eight wickets, which, in reply, PAU Ludhiana could not chase the total and bowled out for 132 runs in 18 overs thus lost the match by a margin of 36 runs. Raj Kumar was top scorer with 31 runs while Sumit Sharma and Daud contributed 25 and 20 runs respectively. Vishal added 15 runs to the total. From PAU Ludhiana, Parveen was most successful bowler with four wickets, followed by two clinched by Iqlas. Batting second, PAU could make 132 runs losing all their wickets in 18 overs. Vinod remained highest scorer with 44 runs while Jagtar added 31 runs. From JU, Daud bowled extremely well taking away four wickets for 27 runs. Pawan and Abhinav shared two wickets each. Raj Kumar bagged one for 22 runs. For his all-round performance, Daud was declared man of the match.
