| Balwant Thakur inaugurates actors' workshop | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 1: A week-long specialized acting workshop being conducted by a student of FTII, Pune (Film and Television Institute of India) inaugurated here today by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur with the lighting of traditional lamp at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. This specialized workshop is being conducted by Sunil Palwal who is specializing in acting at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Sunil Palwal has the credit of having won gold medal from the FTII, Pune when the first selection of actors from all over the country was made. In this specialized workshop, Sunil Palwal would introduce the latest developed methods of actors training which improves concentration, imagination, and observation of the performers. The new techniques of instant transformation from one character to another would be the focus of this training programme. Speaking on the occasion, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that with growing demand of actors in theatre, films and media, it has become imperative to for the aspiring actors to update their acting skills with the latest innovations in acting styles. "Today is world of perfection and the ultimate professionals. Only best talents will rule the media," he said. Sunil Palwal is trained under top actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Benjmin Gilani, Rakesh Bedi, Ravi Baswani, Roysten Able, and Adil Hussain and is currently completing the IInd year of his three year professional course in Acting. On this occasion Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang is going to start a 40-day children's theatre workshop from next week in which the children would be trained in the art of acting, dance and music. He appealed to the interested parents to register their children of 7 to 15years of age with Natrang so they are considered for this rarest training programme.
