JAMMU, Jun 1: A large gathering of intellectual and congress party functionaries attended National Seminar on the "Role of India National Congress in strengthening the democracy in India". Anjali Raj National Coordinator for Congress party's foundation day celebration was the guest of honour and Prof Rizwan Quissar Prof of History Jamia Milia Islamia presented key note address. Taj Mohi U din Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Management presided over the Seminar. Prof Rizwan while speaking on the occasion highlighted the fact that secularism happened to be the bed rock of democracy and congress party being thoroughly secular, it is but natural that congress party has the capacity to strengthen democracy in India. He further elaborated that masses in India, particularity the down-trodden have got attracted to congress party's reach with the people is very large. He further highlighted the contribution of certain eminent personalities that enriched the party by propagating its philosophy. Taj Mohi U Din in his presidential said that congress party is strong everywhere in India simply because of secularism and its message for togetherness of people of India. On this occasion he urged the congress party workers to remain stead fast with the party and promote and propagate its philosophy. Initially the party president Prof Saifuddin Soz welcomed the guests outside state and explained the theme of the National seminar and there after requested TAj Mohi U din to preside over the function.
