| Police organises seminar on 'Security: New Challenges' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATRA, June 2: To strengthen coordination and maintain better liaison between different security agencies, a seminar on " Security: New Challenges" was organized by Police Department at Katra under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur- Reasi Range, Gulzar Singh Slathia and Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Anand Jain here today. The personal of different security agencies including Police, Army, Central Reserve Police Force, security related staff of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Pawan Hans and Deccan, members of Katra Municipality and media persons participated in the seminar. Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra, Dr. M.K Bandhari was the chief guest on the occasion. During the seminar, power point presentation and expert lectures were delivered on different issues for providing safe environment to the people of holy town Katra in general and visiting pilgrims to the cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji in particular. Addressing the participants, Dr. Bhandari lauded the endeavour of Police Department for organizing the seminar on such a relevant topic. The seminar would go a long way in ensuring better coordination between different security agencies particularly deployed at Katra and enroute the Shrine generating greater awareness among the people, he asserted. On the occasion, Additional S.P, Katra, Shiv Kumar, Prosecuting Officer, Rajesh Khajuria, Major, D.J. Singh and Administrative Officer to DIG stressed the need for sensitizing the common masses about new challenges of security related issues. They also called for better coordination between different security agencies for tackling any untoward incident effectively besides educating students about various significant issues. An interactive session was also conducted in which participants raised questions which were satisfactorily responded to by the expert speakers.
