| Excise commissioner visits lower Munda | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 3: The excise commissioner Pardeep Gupta paid a surprise visit to toll post lower Munda here today and was accompanied by the deputy excise commissioner, executive, Kashmir. He took an on spot review of the performance of the toll post. He was told during the year 2009-10 revenue of Rs.16.68 core was earned by the department which is Rs.2.13 crore more than the revenue of the pervious year. In the current year in the months of April and May the department has earned revenue of Rs.2.92 crore which is about Rs.49.00 lac more than that earned in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The commissioner gave instructions for undertaking improvement/ repairs at the toll post and also interacted with the staff of Motor vehicles department, the drivers and the transporters to find out if they are facing any problem at the toll post. He exhorted upon the toll post staff to work with dedication and sincerity and ensure that here is no evasion of revenue. Both the excise the Taxation officer and the commercial Taxes Officer, lower Munda were present during the visit of the excise commissioner.
