| Jammu students protest 'discriminatory' policies | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 3: Accusing the state government of following anti-Jammu policies, Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) activists today staged a protest against the approval of 200 posts for maintenance of Dal lake. The JJSF activists assembled near Shahidi Sathal, Government Gandhi Memorial Science College Jammu and shouted slogans against the administration for allegedly ignoring Jammu region.Addressing the protestors, Partap Singh Jamwal, vice president JJSF said, "By approving the post for Kashmiris, the state government has once again discriminated Jammu region which the successive governments have been doing for the past 62 years. There are many tourist spots in Jammu like historical Jammu Tawi, Mansar, Surinsar and Sanasar where there is great tourism potential but the government seems to be indifferent towards maintaining these spots." He further alleged that government is giving preference to Kashmir people in every field, adding that this time also, in order to give benefit to Kashmir region, government has approved 200 posts to Kashmir people. He condemned the State government for adopting anti-Jammu policies and warned the administration to shun "biased policies."
