| 3 J&K girls to attend trials for international rugby events | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 3: At least three girls from J&K have been invited for the selection trials for the Women’s Core Probable squad of 30 members for upcoming international seven-a-side events. This was disclosed by general secretary of the J&K Rubgy Association, Irfan Aziz Butta, here today. The selected girls are Maviah Gul, Sheikh Hafsa and Hafsa Kirmani of Linton Hall School. To finalise the list of probable, the National Rugby Federation would also go through and find out promising players during the two-day All India women’s Rugby Seven Tournament started today at Delhi. In this ongoing event in the Capital, J&K team also taking part, informed association secretary. The selected probable shall undergo a training camp starting from June 13 at Balewadi. The final team will be representing India in the Asian Games to be held in November. Before their appearance in the Asians, the team would tour to China, Borneo, Lao, Singapore and New Zeeland for preparations.
