| CRPF cop hurt in firing at Udhampur jail | | | UDHAMPUR: A CRPF jawan was today injured critically after being hit by a bullet at the district jail here. CRPF cop Basant Kumar of 187 Bn sustained a bullet wound at the district jail here in the morning, police sources said.
He was rushed to army hospital by the jail authorities, the sources added.
However, it was not immediately known whether he was injured in accidental fire from his official weapon, or from somewhere else, or he had tried to commit suicide.
Sources said the matter was being investigated by the jail authorities and police.
Basant of Madhya Pradesh had recently joined his duties after returning from leave.
Another report said he had allegedly tried to end his life as he was under depression after he returned from home.
