| Contrasting political, social order causing alienation among two regions | | | ARTEEV SHARMA EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 3: Be it a human rights breach, fake and custodial killing, rape or even a small speck of turbulence arising from the valley, the resounding resistance to it from social and political dispensations there is so awesome that it has its collateral boom on the global scenario even. Vice versa is the case here in Jammu that remains in deep slumber on a holocaust even that has made it suffer on all accounts. In Kashmir, the surging public rage backed by the strong leadership on any mishap or misadventure takes the government to ride not only in the state but extends a shocker to New Delhi also that compels to rise to such echoes. The Shopian case of two women found dead in mysterious conditions last year on May 28 still is making hot news and every other instance of a killing on any account gathering public wrath against the security forces is a common phenomenon that refuses to die down. Even the stone pelting incidents in the valley have been attributed to a new government order by the strong leadership there advocating separatism as well as Hurriyatism and has compelled Centre to keep mum on the account, it also helps giving a reason to the world forum also to formulate an opinion there that how much Kashmir bleeds. Down here in Jammu, except a jugglery enacted by so-called the mouth of the region, Bharatiya Janata Party, no other political or social assembly of sound mind and vision exists that could be relied upon for a teething answer to the discrimination and slavery imposed upon Jammuites by Kashmir centric governance of the state. "Our leadership plays second fiddle to what Kashmiri political leaders construct for the governance of the state and such practice in vogue since the independence," said a political analyst who puts such debauchery as 'self-imposed' on the people of Jammu in the wake of absence of good and effective leadership. "Even the Amaranth fallout with Kashmir that had almost shown the government in state as well as at center that given a chance public here could unitedly rise to the occasion, yet it fizzled out through the hands of the opportunist leaders who again fell prey to strong machinations arising from valley and hence lost the vision for good," he further added. "Be it the custodial killing of Rajneesh Sharma at Munshi Bagh police station in Srinagar or Paramjeet Singh's death at Bakshi Nagar police station few days back, Jammu based political outfits had either attempted to exploit the situation for their own interests or remained mum. Their silence and politics of opportunism has just rubbed the salt on wounds of Jammu," he maintained. What to the utter dismay of the Jammuites is that these political parties preferred to raise those issues only which suited to their "evil designs"? "Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming to the voice of Jammu, never had touched any point of focus in its years' stretched career here as the leadership owing its allegiance to the party functionaries hold no great value in quality or expertise to match to those of the other parties and hence have been always on the backburner," he observed. He further observed, "No resurrection of the golden hue of the party is apparent for the future also as 11 MLAs though are there to hold the party's mantle afloat, yet the demeanour of it has lost the basic sheen that may account its goodwill even among the people after the Amarnath Land row also that fetched them good representation in the assembly." Given all these facts and interpretations of these parties' locus standi in Jammu political panorama, the common man now have started seeing into their maneuverings in dealing the sensitive cases playing on human emotions and vote bank politics only.
