| Under PMRY 286 cases sanctioned in Bla: Dr. Romesh | | Appeals youth not to hanker after Govt jobs | | Srinagar, October 17 – District Industries centre Baramulla has set a target of setting up of 344 income generating units with a loan facility of Rs. 4.29 crore under PMRY in Baramulla district during the current financial year. So far, 286 cases have been sanctioned. This was stated in an officers meeting convened by Minister of State for Industries, Commerce, PHE and Irrigation, Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma here today to review the achievements registered under industrial sector in Baramulla and pace of progress on implementation of various schemes. It was given out that District industries centre will provide Interest subsidy of Rs. 4.30 lakh to the unemployed youth of the district for setting up of income generating units. It was told that 32 cases under SSI sector have been submitted to various financial institutions for sanctioning of loans to the tune of Rs. 2.37 crore. Reviewing the performance of handicraft sector, the meeting was informed that during the first six months of the current financial year, 200 persons have been imparted training in different trades and Handicrafts goods worth Rs. 1.9 lakh have been sold. Under Handloom sector 112 persons have been imparted training while 78 weavers were brought under work shed programme. Dr. Sharma underscored the need for avoiding procedural delays in processing the cases of unemployed educated youth. He said the government is committed to tackle the unemployment problem in a phased manner and appealed the youth not to hanker after government jobs and instead avail of various employment programmes launched by the government in the industrial and other sectors.
