| CB Presents challan against Nimibian national | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, June 5 : The Crime Branch Jammu today presented challan in the Court of Sub-Judge Jammu against a Nimibian national and his Indian associates in the much publicized credit card scam. The prosecution story is that a case was registered on the basis of reliable information received by Crime Branch Jammu alleging that some swapping machine (EDC Electronic Data Capture Terminal) holders were indulging in indulging in fraud and cheating by providing cash instead of merchandise/ goods to some unscrupulous elements who managed to procure credit cards by illegal means after charging hefty amounts as commission/ kick-backs in exchange of cash. It has been alleged that some unknown persons are misusing counterfeit cloned and illegally acquired credit cards at EDC installed by different banks at a number of business establishments. It was further alleged that the scrutiny documents, statements of witnesses, interrogation of accused persons revealed that the foreign national namely Hardey Temmy Wesly had visited the state a number of times with effect from June 10, 2008 along with his lady associate and stayed at Hotel Jehlum Resort and others hotels and also visited Srinagar. Accused Balwinder Singh Jamwal who was having EDC Machine in the name of his brother used to arrange his stay at Jammu. He also provided transport and telephonic facilities. When the accused Hardey Temmy Wesly and Sunita Subha visited Jammu, provided his EDC Machine for the purpose of swapping the illegal acquired cards which is evident from the statement of EDC Machine of J&K Bank in the name of Sukhvinder Singh Jamwal Prop Jamwal Electrical Works. The sub-judge M R Chak granted bail to Balwinder Singh Jamwal to the tune of Rs 20,000 along with surety of like amount. One of the accused Sunita Subha is already on bail. ----JNF
