Red Cross dispatches relief items for snow effected villages

JAMMU, June 5: To provide immediate relief to the snow bound victims in district Kishtwar, the Jammu unit of Indian Red Cross Society on the direction of divisional commissioner, Dr. Pawan Kotwal rushed 525 blankets, 30 tents, 100 candles, match boxes, 25 packets of Gur 6.250 Kgs, Chana 12.5 Kg, Bread 100 Pkts, Tarpuline (10x12) 20 Nos, Milk Powder 25 Kgs, Biscuits 100 pkts and 250 kgs of rice.
The executive secretary of Distt. Red Cross, Udhampur Dr. V.P Sharma escorted the relief material to the interior villages like Inshen, Warwan, Jabar, Gulabgarh etc. on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Baseer Ahmed who supervised this relief operation.
The State Branch of J&K Red Cross has also supplied relief material to the Regional Branch Jammu keeping in view the disaster like situations on account of unseasonal heavy snow fall in the higher reaches and has assured full support to the Civil Administration.
