| Lok Adalat decides 321 cases | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 5: A Lok Adalat held today in the District Court Complex Janipur, Jammu under the chairmanship of BL Bhat Principal District and sessions Judge Jammu settled 321 cases and awarded compensation of Rs 20,000. A fine of Rs 66220 was also realized.
Four benches were constituted to adjudicate upon 369 cases. Bench No 1 comprising YP Bourney CJM Jammu and RN Wattal Second Special Electricty Magistrate took up 62 cases of regular Cciminal, Section 488 CrPC and 138 Negotiable Instrument Act were settled. A compensation of Rs 20000 was awarded. The bench also realized fine of Rs 19020.
Bench No 2 comprising YP Kotwal Special Mobile Magistarte (P&T& Shops Act) and SS Bali Special Municipal Magistrate took up 9 cases and settled all the cases and realized Rs 5300 as fine.
Bench No 3 presided by RS Jasrotia Special Railway Magistrate took up 38 cases and settled all the cases realizing Rs 1900.
Bench No 4 presided by Naushad Ahmed Khan, Additional Mobile Traffic Jammu took up 260 challans under MV Act and decided 250 challans in which Rs 40000 realized as Fine. --(JNF)
