| Training programme on Mushroom cultivation held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 7: A practical training cum demonstration programme was organized by Mushroom Development section department of agriculture at demonstration cum training centre Talab Tillo which was inaugurated by the director of agriculture Ajay Khajuria here today. More then 50 mushroom growers form Bishnah, Marh, R.S.Pura, Akhnoor; Dansal participated in the training programme. Director while interacting with mushroom growers said that the deptt of agriculture is making efforts to help the farmers to increase their income by providing requisite technological and material inputs for diversification and adoption of improved agricultural practices. He said that activities form mushroom cultivation and bee keeping has a great potential which will be beneficial income to formers. He said that mushroom growing is very profitable and milky mushroom is summer season mushroom and it fills the gap period of mushroom cultivation and fits in the sequence of growing mushroom around the year. Moreover it gives more than 100% profit in a short period of time. SR.Golotra, the chief agriculture officer Jammu speaking on the occasion said that department is no the back of farmers to give technical advice to farmers particularly in allied sector of agriculture such as mushroom apiculture, floriculture etc. S.Matinder Singh SMS (DL) also interacted with the farmers on value addition. R.L. Bangotra,Mushroom development officer gives the brief about the mushroom development of scheme and said that this is for the first time in the state of J&K such practical training and cum demonstration programme is organized on mushroom cultivation and more will follow. In technical section Aman Jyoti and Anil pandoh MDA delivered the lecture to the mushroom growers.
