Excise deptt held raids against illicit distillation

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 7: In its continuous drive against illicit distillation, a series of excise raids were conducted on in the villages namely Sikandarpur, Laswara, Tarochak, Rathana, Joein, Shekhupura, Kothey Bulen-day, Salehar, Dalblehar, Muralachak, Makhanpur, Kothi, Charkan, Kullain and Biaspur areas of Tehsil R.S Pura and Bishnah during the raids one person namely Babi Devi W/o Tarachand R/o Muralachak was booked under section 48 of J&k Excise Act 1958, and two bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the accused. Beside two plastic containers containing about 150 kgs of lahan were recovered from the state land of Muralachak and were destroyed on spot.
The raids were conducted by the inspectors, Rohit Sharma Darbari Lal under the supervision of Joginder Singh Jasrotia, excise and taxation officers, or city excise range south, Jammu along Ravi with Thakur, excise and taxation officer, tradication wing, under the direction of Deputy excise commissioner, executive, Jammu.
