| Engage Sikhs in dialogue process on Kashmir: SAD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 7: Shromani Akali Dal (SAD) and other Sikh organisations have pinned hopes on the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh's visit to Kashmir for resolving their issues and demands. Addressing media persons here, Harmohinder Singh, state president SAD said, "The Centre had started a quite diplomacy dialogue only to score the personal interest. We appeal to the Prime Minister and his counterpart at Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir problems to the aspiration of all the people and sections residing in J&K especially the Sikhs in particular. The Sikhs should be involved in such talks." He said that the various Sikh organisations and Sikh council held a joint meeting on the eve of the Prime Minister's visit. "The meeting strongly opposed any kind of division of J&K on religion or region basis and it demanded delimitation of seats," he disclosed. He said that from last many years PoK Refugees were being befooled by the State and Centre governments and denied their just and genuine rights. "PoK refugees are being treated as second class citizen at par with other migrants displaced from Kashmir," he said. He also demanded immediate establishment of Minority Commission in J&K for easy redressal of grievances of Sikhs in J&K and justice for the victim of massacre/riots in J&K in J&K i.e. Chitti Singh Puna, Mehzoor Nagar, Sher Bibi, Mir Bazar, 1989 riots, Talwara riots and 176 Sikh youths. The leader also expressed concern over increasing level of corruption in the State. Condemning Army attack at Darbar Sahib Amritsar and other Gurudawars in the country, Singh appealed the Prime Minister to tender apology on behalf of Government of India in House and unconditional release of Sikhs Youths languishing in Jails since long time.
