Poonch, June 7: Two youth, who allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of a woman and her minor daughter at Sangla in Mendhar, Poonch, last night, were captured by locals and given a sound thrashing. Police sources identified the accused as Israr Hussain Shah and Saddam Hussain, both residents of Gohlad in Mendhar. Sources said the duo trespassed into the house of Abdul Majid at Sangla last night and allegedly attempted to rape his daughter-in-law, who was sleeping in a separate room with her eight-year-old daughter.
However, when the woman, whose husband worked in Saudi Arabia, raised an alarm, Majid woke up and caught hold of both the youth.
He brought them outside the house where villagers gave them a sound thrashing, the sources added. Police later reached the spot and took the accused in their custody. Sources said both mother and daughter, whose clothes wee torn by the youth, also had some marks of external injuries. Altho-ugh they were brought to the Mendhar police station, but no FIR was registered. No FIR had been registered in the case as both the parties later compromised, sources said.
