| Leopard dies at Manda zoo | | | JAMMU: A leopard, which was brought from Dandsar forests of Nowshera in Rajouri in an injured condition for treatment at the Manda zoo here, died today.
It was found lying in an injured condition by some locals in Dandsar forests last week. The locals had brought the matter to the notice of wildlife officials, who had then shifted the animal to the Manda zoo for its treatment, official sources said.
It was being treated at the zoo for the past one week, the sources added.
Sources said as its condition continued to deteriorate, it breathed its last today. It was later buried in the nearby Manda wildlife sanctuary, the sources added.
Sources said the leopard might have sustained injuries after falling from a hill.
