| Chib tours Pahalgam areas | | Distributes sports goods among students | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, June 10: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib today said that Government has conceived an ambitious programme to construct sports stadia and playing fields in all the district and tehsil headquarters of the State in a phased manner besides training youth in various sports activities to promote sports in the State. The Minister was addressing a 'Sports Day' function at Aru, Pahalgam, a remote and far-flung village of Anantnag district today. The function was organised by Government Middle School Aru in collaboration with Youth Services and Sports Department Anantnag. The Minister said that special attention is being given to the remote areas like Aru to build basic sports facilities for the youth. Responding to various demands of the local people who called on the Minister during his extensive visit of Pahalgam and its adjoining villages, Chib said that the education Ministry will be approached for posting of adequate teaching staff in the school. Besides, fencing and up-gradation of the playfield will be taken up with Deputy Commissioner Anantnag so that the students are provided basic facilities. During his inspection of the local dispensary, the Minister assured that posting of doctor, availability of medicines and other necessary facilities would be ensured by the health department shortly.
