| Sports Council employees continue strike | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10: Protesting under the banner of J&K State Sports Council Employees Association, the staff of Jammu office of the Council observed a complete strike thereby paralyzing the normal activities both at the coaching centers as well as the office of the Sports Officer MA Stadium, here on the second day today. While the clerical and ground staff as also class IV employees kept the stadias locked, the coaches remained away from the coaching centers thus affecting the normal activities. As usual, the striking staff gathered in front of the Sports House, MA Stadium and sit on dharna raising slogans against the authorities concerned. It is pertinent to mention here that the Sports Council employees demanding 6th Pay Commission benefits and regularization of the daily wagers, who have already completed their seven years of service. Those who addressed the striking employers were Iqbal Singh, Vikramjeet Singh, Anil Wadhera and Gurcharan Singh. Meanwhile, the employees on strike did not allow the screening of the boxing team heading for Youth Boxing Championship to be held at Vishakapatnam from June 16 to June 20 thus making it the first casualty of the agitation.
