| Coalmine workers demand release of pay, COLA | | | KALAKOTE oct-17- Coal Mine Workers /Employees Union affiliated with the Indian National Trade Union Congress has demanded release of salaries pending for last two months and release of COLA arrears for the year 2003-04.
The Union in its meeting held under the chairmanship of RR Uttam has urged the government to release the pending salary of August and September and COLA before Id-ul-Fitr and Diwali festivals.
The workers also took out a rally and staged dharna in front of Tehsildar’s office in support of its demands of release of pending salary and COLA and ensuring interrupted power supply to the coalmines.
Those addressed the workers included RR Uttam, Anwar Hussain Khatana, Mohammed Sharief Khan, Karnail Singh, R K Lakhan Puria, Mohammed Bashir, Parkash Singh, Puran Chand Shamsheer Singh and Pati Raj.
