| Randhir to represent Agriculture Summit-2006 | | | JAMMU OCT-17- Former Minister and President Aromatic Plant Growers Association of India Thakur Randhir Singh today left for the Union capital to represent Confederation of Indian Horticulture in Agriculture Summit- 2006 about the subject ‘Reforms for empowering farmers’. The Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh will inaugurate the two-day summit being held from tomorrow at New Delhi, while Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar would deliver the keynote address. Randhir Singh said that the Summit- 2006 being organized jointly by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry would be a historical event and farmers of the country would get lot of benefits. Expressing his gratitude to Pawar for posting back J B Singh Assistant Director to Jammu and Kashmir, Singh hoped that his expertise in the field of horticulture and agriculture would immensely help to the state especially the farmers. Randhir Singh said that the growers associations have been for the first time brought under an organized sector and urged the farmers to form ‘Kissan clubs’ in each village.
