| MoS Power cannot tolerate 15 minute power cut | | Recommend transfer of PWD official in Rajouri for power failure in meeting Irked over power cut for 15 mins, minister directs transfer of PWD official | | Early Times Report Rajouri, June 12: Notwithstan-ding the fact that lakhs of common people living in Rajouri district are facing unscheduled power cuts of about 12 hours a day, Minister of State for Power Development Department Shabir Ahmed Khan could not tolerate 15 minute power cut in during Officers meeting at Dak Banglow Rajouri .The Minister was annoyed to the extent that he recommended immediate transfer of Dak Banglow Incharge Mohammad Asharf Malik. As per reports, Minister of state for Haj and Auqaf Ajaz Ahmed Khan and Minister of State for Power Development Department Shabir Ahmed Khan had called district officers meeting at Dak Banglow Rajouri. When the power supply went off, everything ran smoothly but the speaker of the microphones and ceiling fans of the fans stopped functioning due to power curtailment. As per the source, the supply remaqined off for only 15 minutes but Shabir Ahmed Khan took strong notice of it and recommended immediate transfer of the Dak Banglow Incharge Mohammad Ashraf Malik. The minister issued directions to Superintendent Engineer Public Works Department Sarda Nandan to immediately issue transfer orders of the concerned employee and initiate an enquiry into the power failure in Dak Banglow. The Minister said that the employee must be punished for not arranging alternate source of power. It is pertinent to mention here that power curtailment is not in the hands of PWD employees and the action against a Dak Banglow employee is being seen as uncalled for gesture by the minister. Instead, the minister should have taken action against the employees of his own department for power failure, is the grouse expressed by concerned quarters here. When contacted Superintendent Engineer PWD Sarda Nandan admitted that minister has issued directions to transfer Dak Banglow Incharge for power failure during officers meeting. He however said that there was no fault of PWD in it. "Power supply is not in our control and PDD had to arrange for alternate source", SE said. It is surprising that minister of state for power could not tolerate 15 minute power break and lakhs of residents in Rajouri district are facing unscheduled power cuts and are suffering a lot due to these cuts. The residents are regularly complaining of power failures but the department is turning deaf ear towards their plight. Ironically the department minister has not taken any action against his own employees and the axe fell on the employee of PWD for power failure in Dak
