| Training programme on water productivity in Agriculture concludes | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, June 13: A 14 day's trainers' training programme w.e.f. from May 31 to June 13 on up of Water Productivity in Agriculture for Livelihood through Teaching-cum Demonstration" was coordinated by Er. N. K. Gupta, Senior Scientist, Water Management Research Centre, SKUAST. About 22 officers of Agriculture department covering from all the ten districts of Jammu Province were participated in the training programme.
The training programme imparted the technical knowledge to the participants comprising overall scenario of water availability, tapping of run-off in the soil, water harvesting, estimation of water requirement of agricultural crops and plants and finally the judicious and effective use of water to increase the productivity.
The training programme was of great benefit going to result in the benefit of farming community in the shape of enhanced productivity.
The officers were highly appreciated the way in which the training programme was organised under the guidance of Dr. A.S.Bali,Chief Scientist,Water Management.
