| BCP to go on hunger strike from June 22 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 13: Bhartiya Chaitanya Party (BCP) leaders decided to go on hunger strike from 22nd June on the issue of charging of tax from Langer organisers if the State Government does not revoke its decision. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, BCP State President Rohit Bali said that State Government has recently come out with a plan to tax every vehicle entering the State even if it is carrying free essential supplies for Amarnath pilgrims, which is very high, adding that last year this tax was Rs 1,200 with no limitation on number of days. He strongly opposed this plan of the State Government as this is going to have an adverse impact on the facilities available for the Amarnath pilgrims and it divides the people on religious lines. This is narrow vote bank politics of worst kind which increases the distance in the hearts of different communities.
