| Rajouri migrants neglected, survival pathetic | | |

JAMMU, June 13: People of Rajouri are well known for their patriotic sprit. But some families were threatened and repeatedly victimized by terrorists, which forced these families to leave their native place and migrate to Jammu and other places in state. But pathetic conditions of these migrants in Jammu have several stories to tell.
While addressing the press conference at Jammu, today, Jamila Begum, Chairman, and Seema President of Forum, said that due to militancy a large number of families residing within the border areas-remote areas of Rajouri have migrated to Jammu. These families were forced and terrorized by the Militants, and due to continuous threats of militants the families migrated to Jammu.
She said that the families which migrated from Rajouri are quite innocent, having no knowledge about getting themselves registered with Relief Organization as migrants in order to get relief for their sustenance. Begum said that migrants from Rajouri are living in apathy in various parts of Jammu District and other parts of State, but State Govt. headed by Omar Abdullah is quite ignorant to protect the migrants. At present Rajouri migrants are in pitiable conditions having no source, no shelter, no protection for their sustenance under prevailing constitutional rights of Jammu and Kashmir State and that of Govt. of India which is quite discriminative and injustice towards Rajouri migrants.
She urged coalition govt. headed by Omar Abdullah to save and protect Rajouri migrants by providing them facilities for proper living, shelter, ration for survival and facilities for education to their wards, so that migrants can also live and sustain under free atmosphere of democratic India.
