| Sunday sizzle mercury fetches showers | | | CHAMAN KAUL EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 13: Mercury sizzle begins again with temperature recorded 1 degree higher to normal. Last week ended relieved due rain showers at several places in the region. Clouds appeared on the sky at different intervals but of no respite. Last rains occurred after three days continuous heat wave and gradual increase in temperature. Similarly, the week started with 1 degree higher to normal and temperature predicted by IMD for the coming two days indicates that temperature will rise by more 1 and a half degree in the days to come. That signifies that every coming day would get hotter. Temperature will increase during night as well by one or more degrees, as per forecast of IMD. According to numerical weather predictions, monsoon flow over Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal will be intensified in 2 to 3 days, similarly western disturbances will affect Himalayas in next 4 to 5 days. It is also predicted that scattered rains or thunder showers can occur at higher reaches in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials in local metrology department informed that coastal disturbances are on way to Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir and comprehensive raining could be expected from June 17th onwards. It is important to mention that IMD has predicted record monsoon this year of which post monsoon rains have come little less to expectations. However, people were in good humor in the late evening because of respite due to scattered showers.
