JAMMU, JUNE 13: A government school teacher was arrested for allegedly molesting a woman and then attempting to outrage her modesty at Ramnagar in Udhampur Saturday.
Police sources said a 20-year-old woman went to the house of Romal Singh, a teacher at Government Middle School, Ramnagar, to get his signatures on a document.
Romal and his friend Ganesh Kumar, however, caught hold of her and allegedly molested her and tried to rape her, the sources added. After the woman escaped from their custody, she lodged a complaint with police.
Sources said while Romal was arrested, Ganesh was absconding. A case was registered against them at the concerned police station under relevant sections of law, the sources added.
