| Hafeez Saeed released on Pak court's order | | |
Islamabad, Oct 18 Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafeez Muhammad Saeed was today released after spending about two months in preventive detention on the orders of a Pakistani court.
Saeed was released in the early hours today, his lawyer Nazeer Ahmad Ghazi told PTI from Lahore.
The head of self-proclaimed NGO Jamaat-ud-Dawa was arrested on August 28.
Lahore High Court Judge Justice Akhter Shabbir yesterday ordered his release ignoring Pakistan government's arguement that Saeed's "increased activities" could "hurt" relations with neighbouring countries.
