| J-K to start 344 income generating units this financial year | | |
Srinagar, Oct 18 The Jammu and Kashmir Government has set a target of starting 344 income generating units in Baramulla district under the Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojna during the current financial year, an official spokesperson said here today. Against the target of 344 units, the district industries centre Baramulla has already sanctioned 286 cases of income generating units, the spokesman said after a meeting chaired by Minister of State for Industries and Commerce R C Sharma yesterday.
The meeting was convened to review the progress on implementation of various schemes.
The spokesman said the district industries centre will provide interest subsidy of Rs 4.30 lakh to the unemployed youth of the district for setting up of income generating units.
As many as 32 cases under small scale industries sector have been submitted to various financial institutions for sanctioning of loans to the tune of Rs 2.37 crore, he said.
Reviewing the performance of handicraft sector, the meeting was informed that during the first six months of the current fiscal, 200 people have been imparted training in different trades and handicrafts goods worth Rs 1.90 lakh have been sold.
Under the handloom sector 112 people have been imparted training while 78 weavers were brought under workshed programme.
