| Transfer guidelines flouted in PDD | | Store Officers continue to serve beyond stipulated period | | SRINAGAR, JULY 25, : Store Officers of three stores of Power Development Department (PDD) have been serving at their respective positions for more than stipulated period. All the norms have been flouted for allowing these officers to continue at their respective positions for the reasons best known to the higher PDD officials. Circular, guidelines for the transfer, issued by the PDD states, “All officers from Junior Engineer to Chief Engineer will have a wing stay not exceeding four years. There shall be minimum tenure of two years as a unit of posting, which if exigencies of public service so demand, may be extended to a maximum of three years. The posting of the officers will rotate within the wings of the department after maximum stay for four years.” Circular further adds, “the officers holding the charge of stores shall in no case be allowed to continue on such assignment beyond a period of two years.” Highly placed sources said that, store officer of Transmission Line Construction Division (TLCD)- I, has been holding the charge of the store for last eleven years. The Store officer of TLCD-II has been holding the charge for last four years and the store officer, Grid Construction division has been holding the charge for last six years. Sources further said that transfer orders of the Store Officer of TLCD-II division and of the Store officer of Grid Construction Division have already been issued. However, till today both of them continue to hold their respective charges and have not been relived yet for the reasons best known to the higher PDD officials. Sources further said that if a probe is conducted, it would open a Pandora’s box. They added, top PDD officials need to take a note of the discrepancies and order an inquiry.
