However education authorities said that there is local politics involved in manipulating the protest. As per reports, students of Government Girls Middle School Kulani in Poonch district today blocked Poonch-Mandi road at about 8 am in the morning staged dharna on the road. They raised slogans against the education authorities for not showing their seriousness in this school where 7 teachers were posted and only 2 were found present on duty. A protesting student without disclosing his name said that they have 7 teachers in the school but only one or two are attending the school and remaining remained absent on turns. "There is turn of teachers to attend school. If two teachers are attending today they entered in agreement with others for remaining absent on tomorrow and ultimately we are suffering with this attitude of teachers", a girl student said adding that they are already facing shortage of staff but the existing one is also not attending their duties. Following traffic jam, Mandi police rushed to the spot and cease arrival register from the school. "Yes we cease arrival register", SHO Mandi Javaid Malik. When asked about the number of present teachers on arrival, SHO said there were only two signatures one of Ms. Ruksana and another Chander who had marked their attendance. The remaining columns were blank, SHO said adding that he had handed over the arrival to Chief Education Officer Rajouri RK Maini. The dharna was lifted following assurance of Chief Education Officer Rajouri for mitigating their demnds at about 1 PM. When contacted, RK Maini, CEO Poonch said that the students were protesting for posting of staff in the school and their demands will be considered in near future. When asked about absentee teachers, he said there are 7 teachers among them 2 have been promoted as masters and shifted from there whereas one is working in Sarva Sikha Abhiyan and 2 were on leave. When asked about their applications, CEO said that though these teachers had applied for leave, they got misplaced somewhere. Meanwhile Chief Education Officer has smelled some local politics involved in manipulating the dharna. He said that as per some sources, there are few local teachers who desire to manage their transfer in the village and they are adopting this way to project themselves. He however praised those teachers who were present on duty and said that these teachers have shown best performance in past and there is no compliant against them.
