Land for Bhaderwah University to be acquired in phase manner

The land for the construction of University Campus at Bhaderwah would be acquired in phase manner so that the land owners can use it for cultivation purposes till it is actually required for the purpose.
The is was reportedly assured by the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to former power minister Muhammad Sharief Niaz, who called on him at his official resident, here today so as to apprise him about the over all situation of District Doda in general and Bhaderwah, Bhalessa in particular.
Accompanied by Javed Azad, President Bhaderwah Municipal Committee, the former minister demanded release of compensation in favour of the farmers who have lost their crops due to heavy rains and flood in the area.
Niaz reportedly also discussed the matter regarding construction of University campus at Bhaderwah and demanded that the compensation to the land owners, whose land has been acquired by the government, shall be paid at the earliest.
It was also demanded that on the first phase land measuring 300 kanals be acquired as per the requirement and further land be acquired in the phase manner and owners of the land be till than allowed to sow their fields so that land may not remained idle.
The delegates further demanded that the work on Thathri-Kilhotran road which has been stopped due to some reasons be started immediately so that the people of the area may not face any inconvenience.
Release of funds in favour of local bodies, development works by Bhaderwah tourism authority and continuation of teachers and lecturers of Education Department attached with different institution at their present place of posting till academic session were some of the other demands discussed in the meeting.
As per a press release, issued here today, the Chief Minister gave patient hearing to the demands and issued instruction to the deputy Commissioner Doda that only 300 kanal of land be acquired for University Campus and balance as and when requisitioned by the authority be acquired in a phase manner so that the land may not remained idle un-necessarily.
