| Sham inaugurates blood donation camp at Domana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 20 : Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated a Blood Donation Camp at Domana. The Camp was jointly organized by the Sant Nirankari Mission in collaboration with Regional Red Cross Society, Jammu and Health Department. Lauding the efforts of the Sant Nirankari Mission for supplementing government's efforts in providing health facilities and arranging Blood Donation Camps at various places, he said that the welfare organization is doing yeoman's job in providing relief to the society, especially to the poor and downtrodden people of the society. The Minister asked the mission to step up its efforts to eradicate social evils from the society. They should motivate the youth to keep away from addiction which is consuming the vitals of future generation. Need of the hour is to make collective efforts to bring social reforms for the emancipation of the mankind. Listing the steps taken by the health department to improve health facilities across the state, the Minister said that the government is shortly procuring 25 critical ambulances equipped with all life saving facilities to attend accidental cases. These ambulances will be placed on the National Highway and other accident prone areas in the distance of 30 km. This has been done to keep a check on the accidental deaths, said Shama. The head of the Sant Nirnakari Mission, Choudhary Jag Mohan felicitated the Minister on the occasion. Over 150 volunteers of mission registered for blood donation in the camp. Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Jasbir Singh, HoD Blood Transfusion Department, Government Medical College,Jammu, Dr T R Raina, Secretary Regional Red Cross Society, Jammu, Anil Padha were prominent among those present on the occasion.
