| Indian Red Cross Society meet convened at Doda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, JUNE 23 : District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Doda, Mr Farooq Ahmed Khan today convened a meeting of the Indian Red Cross Society to review its functioning in the District. Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doad, Mr. A.R Natnoo, SDM Gandoh, Mr. Imam Din, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, CPO Doda, ASP, CMO Doda and Medical Superintendent DH Doda Dr. M .F Bhatt besides other members and functionaries of the society were present in the meeting. DDC said that the Red Cross movement is guided by its principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service unity and universality. It is the worlds largest humanitarian organization providing assistance without discrimination.
He stressed upon the members to motivate the people to join the organization as a mission to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity. He said the main aim and objective of the society is to provide aid to the sick and wounded members of armed forces/civilians, maternity , child & family welfare , nursing and ambulance work, motivate blood donation , improvement of health, providing of relief during epidemics, earthquakes, famines, disasters and establishment and maintenance of peace among all nations. It was also revealed in the meeting that due appreciation would be given to the Red Cross Volunteers who reach the people in the remote areas, provide first aid in road accidents and shifting of injured, search and rescue operations, identifying deserving people for assistance, assisting the hospital during emergencies besides other social services. It was decided in the meeting that disaster management training would be given at school level by the Red Cross Society Doda so that they are made aware regarding various precautions and measures to be taken during earthquakes and other natural calamities.
